NOTD: Space Glam by Essence...

Out Of Space Stories is Essence's current limited edition seven-piece nail polish collection, and is now in Wilco stores.

What makes this collection exciting is that it contains holographic, duochrome and foil finishes - for £2 each!!

Do you really need anymore incentive to go out and track down this collection, after hearing that?!

Miss Baby Roll mascara by L'Oreal...

Ah - mascara. One of my top three makeup products [concealer and highlighter are my other two], so my head is pretty easily turned whenever I come across a new one...

And... Well, there's not else to add to this story. I saw a TV ad for Miss Baby Roll, so decided to look out for it in Boots, then picked it up when I saw it on offer. Money well spent, or was it thrown away? Only one way to find out...

New Fragrance; VIP Private Show edp by Britney Spears...

"Take a seat, let the champagne flow and enjoy the excitement of a private performance with the legendary talent. Indulgent and endlessly glamorous, VIP Private Show channels Britney’s charisma and sparkle into a scent that perfectly captures her connection to her fans, global success and undeniably alluring appeal."
Britney Spears and Elizabeth Arden are back with their 22nd fragrance release; VIP Private Show, the first flanker for last year's Private Show, which I think is Britney's most adult fragrance release.

Lets see if it looks like they'll be staying in their new direction...

New fragrance: Katy Perry's Indi edp by Katy Perry...

we should all be enjoying life, be proud of ourselves, be ourselves and start each day with an open mind...
Just the other day I was actually wondering if Katy Perry would be releasing a new fragrance to go along with her new album [Witness] and new TV role [American Idol judge], and here is the new press release from Coty.

The good news is that it seems like we are getting the more 'grown up' fragrance we were promised when Katy first signed with Coty back in 2013 and left the cat shaped perfume bottles from her Jigsaw Perfumes era behind...

Are they dupes?: What's With The Cattitude vs I Believe In Manicures, both by OPI...

OPI's light blue creme shade What's With The Cattitude was part of the spring 2010 Shrek Forever collection and has become a sought after shade among collectors, which is why I wanted to write this post after finding a possible dupe when rearranging my polish stash at home recently...

I'm talking about their recently released light blue creme shade; I Believe In Manicures (part of a Audrey Hepburn quote*), which is one of the polishes in the Holiday 2016 Breakfast At Tiffany's Collection. It can still be found almost-anywhere that sells OPI polish, which makes it a great comparison for people looking for What's With The Cattitude.

Read on for side by side swatches, read which shade I think is the better one, and to see how the formulas compare.

NOTD: Crown Of Thistles by A-England...

Today I sharing one of my successful explorations into the world of indie nail polishes; A-England [stands for Alchemy England] a UK cruelty and 3-free brand.
Today's spotlight shade is Crown Of Thistles, which is from the 2014 Elizabeth And Mary collection and is still available to buy on the site today - I think that the collections on the A England site are permanent ones [fingers crossed, as there are loads of shades I want to get].

Mmmm; look at that shade, and the holographic sparkles...

I Am... The Alchemist (palette by Kat Von D)...

The Alchemist palette wasn't released in the UK until a few days ago, but the Debenhams site had a 24 hour pre-sale for it a fortnight before that - which is when I got mine - so I've had enough time to play around with it for a decent review, and share my verdict.

I don't want to ramble on, and want to dive into my reviews and photos; this product has spent eight years in development and has been on sale in other parts of the world for over five months now, so let's finally get round to trying it for ourselves...

NOTD: Rainbow Wishes by Nails inc...

Today we're looking at the second half of the new Sparkle Like A Unicorn duo by Nails inc.

Rainbow Wishes is described as being the "holographic dreamy soft sheen rainbow" half of the duo on the Nails inc website, but I found myself wondering "what kind of formula counts as a dreamy rainbow?"

I lasted a whole two hours before I cracked and bought a duo from the Nails inc site, so that I could find out for myself. And now it is time to share the results...

NOTD: Dream Dust by Nails inc...

Today we're looking at one half of the new Sparkle Like A Unicorn duo by Nails inc, and I decided to start with a bit of bling...

Dream Dust is the "blinding sparkle with 3D pigment" half the duo, and as I've been looking for a nice rose gold tone of polish, my eye was immediately drawn to this shade. So let's sprinkle some sparkle and gallop into a review for it.

Coming up roses? [Tease Flower edp by Victoria's Secret]...

"A spring fling for the ultimate flirt: a fresh, floral-infused twist on the original warm gourmand scent"
I fancied a new perfume for spring, and as soon as I saw the bottle for Tease Flower online, I knew that it would be mine - no matter the actual scent. I was so in love with the bottle that I went to eBay, bidded, and won a bottle...

Now, after repeatedly wearing the perfume, it's time to share my final thoughts on it. Did I make an impulsive mistake, or is it a wonderful surprise?

NOTD: Rain Dance The Night Away by China Glaze...

Today I want to look at a polish that was released in the 2015 late-summer-transitioning-into-autumn Desert Escape collection and is still easy to find online today.
I bought Rain Dance The Night Away as soon as the collection was released, but then my Grandfather died and his favourite song - Dance The Night Away by The Mavericks - was played at his funeral, and I found the similar name of this polish to be a sad reminder of that day, so I put the polish in a drawer and forgot all about it.

However; after almost two years I've come to like the reminder of his life via 'his' song, so it's time to dig out Rain Dance The Night Away and see if it's as good as it's name...

First Impressions: Sweet Like Candy Limited Edition by Ariana Grande...

I read in a paper that Sweet Like Candy is currently the third (or maybe it was the second?) best-selling celebrity-branded perfume in the UK, so a new flanker for it was inevitable, and here we are now.
I found the original Sweet Like Candy pleasant but unmemorable - one of those it's nice enough to wear if I get it as a gift or find it cheap, but not good enough to pay full price for. I was therefore keen to test the limited edition version to see if it had been improved on (I admit to wanting to like it as I love the bottle and was already imagining it sat on my dresser), and made a bit more "wow". After finding the limited edition variant in Boots [it's not on the website, but is in stores now] and multiple tests, my verdict is in...

Will my dresser be getting a new accessory, or is it another near miss by Team Grande?

YouTube vlog: Kat Von D shares her views on dupes and outright plagiarism [and gives us a sneak peek on upcoming releases]

Yesterday Kat Von D posted a Instagram pic showing Makeup Revolution's copy of her Shade & Light eyeshadow palette, and she was not pleased...
Kat was called out in the comments for being unprofessional, though the post is on her personal account and not her brand one, so now she has uploaded a video on her Youtube channel in order to clarify her thoughts and opinions on the issue.

NOTD: Gluteus Equine over Absence, both by Pretty Serious...

Pretty Serious is a cruelty free and vegan indie Australian brand that ships world-wide, and is very reasonably priced. I've only been buying from Pretty Serious for a little over a year, but they have already become my favourite brand. I have around 60 polishes by them now, and I can honestly say that every single one I've worn so far has had a great streak-free formula.

I'm sorry that my posts have been slow and not as in depth of late, but  life has been pretty crappy lately, and I just haven't felt like faking excitement for none-vital things. Anyway; today I want to ease back into my usual routine and get back to blogging, by shining the spotlight on two of my most-worn polishes from the brand.

Inheriting the cosmetic counter: Heiress Limited Edition edp by Paris Hilton...

“Heiress is such a great scent and one of my personal favorites. It’s playful and fun with a touch of  sophistication! This limited edition fragrance is the perfect go to scent with the super cute bottle that’s so festive with red crystals. Just looking at it will make you feel just like an heiress yourself!” - Paris HIlton
It seems like forever ago (October 2015) that I read that Parlux would be releasing a limited edition version of the Paris Hilton perfume Heiress in honor of the original's tenth anniversary; the original Heiress perfume had just been released one of the first times I went to NYC where I remember buying it in Macy's and getting a free travel bag (with wheels!), lotion & a ton of free samples, so I wanted to buy this new edition to remind me of my fun-filled holiday. As luck would have it my mother and sister were in NYC when Paris Hilton was and said to be releasing this limited edition version (late February/early March 2016), however they failed to find the perfume anywhere. And all throughout 2016 I'd ask everyone I knew who was traveling abroad if they would mind looking for this perfume in the Duty Free stores, but no-one ever found it.

Fast forward a bit; I was stuck at home and bored over the new year and absent-mindedly did yet another Google search for the Heiress limited edition release - and found it on The  Perfume Shop's UK site (link at the end of my review). And so it is now time to buy it and see just how the fragrance has held up over time... And let's also see if it has a slightly different composition, like the limited edition version of the original Paris Hilton perfume did.
