Its all bright, with Collection 2000...

I'm trying to work my way out of my 'neutral rulez' makeup rut, so have slowly been introducing bright colours into my makeup bag, in the forms of blush and lipstick, to break up my safe-but-boring routine.

I've already shown you one o my favourite blushes, so I've decided to showcase two of my daring [for me] lipstick shades...

PINK SHOCK is a creamy shade of hot pink - and by hot pink I mean fluorescent. I think that this shade is very similar to MAC's much sought after LE shade Candy Yum Yum.

The pink is my favourite and I've worn it quite a few times in public. My newer find is seen below, but I'm waiting for sunnier weather to wear it out and about...

MANGO TANGO is a tangerine shade, which has a twist of red in it. Keeping with my MAC comparisons, I'd say that the shade is along the same line as Morange, with a touch of Vegas Volt thrown in.

The finish to both of the lipsticks is creamy and easy to distribute evenly - I find it similar to MAC Amplified finishes. The formula hasn't had a drying effect on my lips. The lasting power is average for a lipstick; four to five hours, depending on food or drink. No less and no worse then other brands.

The only downside I've found is the lack of sunshine to wear these summery shades. But I am going to Florida in November, so I will get to wear them eventually...
I've had no problems with the packaging - it is secure and doesn't look 'cheap'.

The Collection 2000 Lasting Finish lipsticks come in 11 shades and I'm so impressed with the quality of these two, that I will be getting more in the future.

Have a Super, duper Orgasm...

I've not really been into doing anything special with my makeup for a while now,  I tend to stick to the same old things. One exception to the monotony is that I am really getting into blush, as my skin is so pale and dull on it's own.

I've notice that I use NARS Super Orgasm a lot, so I thought I'd tell you a little bit about it...

Lets get the main issue out of the way: the pink/peach base of the powder blush is actually the same for both Orgasm and Super Orgasm, even though Super Orgasm does look a bit  duskier in the pan in comparison to the original.

The only real difference between the two Orgasm blushes is that the original Orgasm contains the famous golden shimmery gleam, whilst SUPER ORGASM uses very fine gold glitter particles instead and has no golden glow. The lack of shimmer means that SUPER ORGASM does apply sheerer and pinker on the skin then the original Orgasm does, so it does look different enough to justify buying it.

Most importantly, it wears well - I'll apply it in the morning and it will last until I take it off at the end of the day. NARS is a pricey brand, but the quality is unbeatable.

I personally haven't had any of the fall-out issues with SUPER ORGASM that I did with NARS other glittery cheek product - the Hungry Heart duo, so that's another point in SUPER ORGASMs favour.

Would I recommend it? It depends; SUPER ORGASM and Orgasm are both lovely shades, that are wearable on all skin tones, but for most people I'd say that if you own one shade then you really don't need the other one too. But for my fellow mega NARS fans, then yes, I do recommend SUPER ORGASM; the finishes between the two blushes make the base colour appear noticeably different enough to warrant a purchase.

[Made with transparent pigments for a soft and sheer look]
(translation; it is a pain to swatch - the top and bottom pictures involved hours of photographing myself in direct sunlight)
If you want a sheerer finish, with a touch of sparkle = you are a Super Orgasm girl :)
If you want a glowy finish = the original is best Orgasm for you...

Just a little more about Lady Gaga's Fame...

“Fame is an illusion — if you really want it, anyone can have it”

Eau de parfum:
10ml [rollerball] - $19 [£12]
30ml - $42 [£26]
50ml - $55 [£35]
100ml Ultimate Masterpiece (these words are also printed on the bottle) - $79 [£50]
"The Ultimate Masterpiece is Gaga’s “pure vision” for her scent brand, complete with a heavy, clear glass, egg-shaped bottle and a weighty gold-claw-inspired cap, and a number of doors will be carrying that size exclusively"

Bath and body:
black Soap - $15 [£9] (will be released in August in limited distribution)
black shower gel - $25 for 200 ml [£16] (released by November)
black body lotion - $30 for 200 ml [£19] (on counter in November)

The scented soap will be in shops by August? Does that mean that the perfume release date is being pushed up worldwide? Only a little bit longer to wait :)

Be nice to know the prices in British pounds - all I have above is the current rate against US dollars, but [so far] the rough price guide seems reasonable for a EDP.

More info on Lady Gaga's Fame...

"Photo from Haus Laboratories of Le Masterpiece FAME: the premiere edition my fragrance, cap is solid metal not plastic. There are 2 versions of fragrance. One is more affordable. The other is Le Masterpiece, larger bottle, metal cap & eau de parfum. My baby! All my fashion fragrance dreams coming true!" - Lady Gaga

"30 dollars for affordable. Over 70 for Le Masterpiece."
So there will be two editions of Fame? Is the cheaper one a EDT and the expensive one a concentrated EDP? Guessing on the prices, I'd say yes, that does sound like the prices of most mass market fragrance releases.

[based on current rates]
$30 = £19
$70 = £45

Then again more concentrated parums tend not to be sold in larger sizes, so baring that in mind I'm guessing that 'Le Masterpiece' is a collectors edition - you know, a limited edition bottle.

Also; the worldwide release date was given as September, but Macy*s customers will begin receiving their pre-ordered bottles one month earlier. Will it be the same for the rest of the world, or is a Macy*s [U.S.] only promotional thing?

finally; A Spanish fan apparently got to buy a bottle [the bottle is being made in Spain] and thinks that Fame is similar to Paco Rabanna Black XS. So you can give XS a sniff to see if Fame is likely to be your cup of tea whilst we wait for the release.
